Narva is a town on the border between Estonia and Russia. Moreover, it is the easternmost point of the European Union. There are border towns in all participating countries. What are benefits and problems of border towns? What are their roles in the state and Europe? What do they have in common?
2. The Baltic Wave – from the Soviet Union to the European Union
Participants: Narva Soldino Gümnaasium, Estonia, and schools from Latvia and Lithuania
The three Baltic states used to be part of the Soviet Union, then gained independence and became members of the European Union. How similar and different is their history? How similar and different is their school system? What the Baltic identity mean?
3. The Medieval Castles in Modern Europe
Participants: Narva Soldino Gümnaasium, Estonia, and schools from other towns of participating countries where medieval castles are
The landmark of Narva is its medieval castle, which was founded by the Danes in the 13th century. Medieval castles exist in all participating countries. Their role in the past was extremely significant. What is their role now? What do they mean for town citizens?
